Eva Marková: Spatial Aspects of Poetry in High School Didactics

If one of the most important maxims of literature didactics is that the discussed topic should be related to the students’ experience with the world, the spatial aspects of poetry represent a possible approach to the didactics of literature in high school. A concrete focus on the representation of space in poetry allows the use of the didactic methods of foreign languages to analyze the poem. On the other hand the possibility of using methods of theater didactics, which should let students find their own approaches to the recitation of poems, also exists. Using some of the broadcasts of Básně a místa, this paper will attempt to outline some possible didactic approaches to the poems and their interpretation, particularly through their spatial aspects.
