Jan Malura: Town, Mountain and Landscape in Early Modern Times Poetry – Addressing the Typology of the Literary Representation of Places

Through several examples of various genres (laus urbis, song of pilgrimage, conceptualist “miner” poem) in Czech, Latin and German poetry the main means (topicalization, description, construction) of conveying places in the poetry and songs of Humanism and Baroque will be summarized. The paper will follow rather general aspects of representing places and shall be complementary with Jakub Ivánek’s more specialized paper.
